NGCL is a Corporate Trustee established under the PNG Oil & Gas Act of 1998. The beneficiary shareholders are Provincial Governments and landowners from project areas. Recently the PNG Government approved for NGCL to participate in the US$12 billion Exxon Mobil led LNG Project. NGCL is exploring several commercial opportunities. Exxon Mobil through its subsidiary Esso Highlands Ltd, is leading the development of the largest project ever undertaken in PNG’s history. Natural gas extracted from Southern Highlands will be piped to Portion 152 in Port Moresby for liquefaction and shipped to overseas markets on LNG carriers.

NGCL will manage 4.22% equity in the project.
